Soles with Goals Home

IMG_54941Welcome walkers, joggers, runners, and anyone who’s ever thought about walking, jogging or running!  This is the group for you!  Soles with Goals is all about getting moving and supporting your fellow teammates along the way.  Joining is easy and FREE.  Simply email your athletic alias and weekly mileage goal to soleswithgoals@tanktopandtennisshoegirl.com.  Then start moving!  After each workout, email your mileage accomplished.  New members are welcome at anytime.  Sign up today!

Soles with Goals is intended to be a positive and fun group.  Be realistic with your goals, you can always change them at any time.  Just let me know.  20140705_105243Our ultimate goal will be to hit the team’s total monthly mileage goal.  Some weeks are busier than others, so never despair.  You can make up mileage another week if you fall short.  Again, we’re a team, so we can pick each other up and donate a mile or two if needed. Collectively we are striving to reach and/or exceed the monthly goal.

Team Updates:

*New Month Begins December 30!

*Update your mileage goal by emailing it to soleswithgoals@tanktopandtennisshoegirl.com.

*Mileage may be reported to two decimal places (1.34, 2.76, etc.).

*If changing your mileage goal during the month, it will not be retroactive.  It will be adjusted going forward.

*Weeks are Sunday-Saturday.

*Mileage is on foot.  Cycling, rollerblading, etc. miles are not included.  (I encourage all kinds of exercise, but the miles just don’t compare.  If enough interest is shown, perhaps we can start a cycling/wheeled sports group.)

*Share with the team.  If you have healthy recipes, pre/post workout snack suggestions, silly workout stories, photos, tips (where to walk/run, preferred shoes or apparel, helpful training tactics, etc.) or know of upcoming events, please email them or add them to the comments section at the bottom of the page.

*In fairness to team members actively participating, anyone who hasn’t reported mileage in a month will be benched.  If for some reason something is going on and you’re unable to actively participate for a while, just let us know.  We’ll work with you, as we want everyone on the team.  We just don’t want people to basically quit, not tell us, and tank the team’s mileage.

*Please note that as our team grows, our mission and % accomplished toward our goal will change.  The statistics presented at a certain point in time are based on the information at that moment and subject to change with additional mileage being reported, changes in goals, and the addition of team members.  Seeing these adjustments is exciting.  Our team is actively growing and changing.  That benefits all of us.  Stay focused on your goal, and give it your best effort.  That’s how we’ll stay on track regardless of any mathematical changes along the way.

20160426_175615While extremely athletic, agile and strong, our favorite supportive sidekick is adamantly opposed to wearing any sort of mileage tracking device and is definitely not going to be reduced to wearing a leash.  However, there is no way something is going to go on without him.  Always involved with unparalleled enthusiasm, content to observe without active participation, and never without his astute opinions, Sid has earned his special role on the team.

“Run like a dog is chasing you.”

“I find you quite boring when you just sit there.  Please get up and move.”

“Take plenty of naps, and drink lots of water.”
