I mow and trim my own yard. Upon using up the last of the string in the string trimmer, I just always bought the replacement spools. When my brother found out I did this, he made fun of me and told me to wrap my own. Out of convenience and ignorance, I’d never really considered that as an option–until now. As much as I hate to admit my big brother was right, wrapping your own string trimmer spools is unbelievably easy and SO much cheaper than buying the pre-wound spools. I had been spending $18.97 for a three-pack. Now, I bought a great big pack of string for $7.98. It will wind far more than three spools for sure. I just wish I would have kept more of the used spools to wind.
